Klemens Himpele

Klemens Himpele studied economics at the University of Cologne, graduating in 2005. He started his professional career as an educational researcher in Cologne and Berlin. After this, he worked for Statistics Austria in Vienna and the German Education Union (GEW) in Frankfurt am Main. Between 2012 and 2020, he was Head of the City of Vienna’s Department for Economic Affairs, Labour and Statistics. He has been CIO of the City of Vienna since October 2020.
