Jan Maly is an Assistant Professor at the WU Vienna University of Economics and Business. He works mostly on tools that help groups to make better, fairer and more representative decisions, with a special focus on participatory budgeting and other innovative democratic participation processes. He is one of the co-founders of the European Digital Democracy network, which brings together academics and practitioners actively working on or with digital democracy in on- and offline events. He serves as one of the scientific coordinators of the Vienna Doctoral College on Digital Humanism, an interdisciplinary doctoral training program dedicated to critically examining and shaping the digital transformation of society.
