Dr Ivonne A. Herrera, Senior Scientist at NTNU Social Research and former president of the Resilience Engineering Association, has more than 30 years experience in industry, the public sector, academia, and research. A common feature of her work has been a holistic perspective that covers technological, organisational and societal aspects creating a safer society by strengthening resilience. She has led several national and international research projects since 2004 and has worked as an expert for national organisations and the European Commission. Her expertise spans aeronautics, digital and civil security. She holds a PhD in Safety Management and Resilience Engineering, an MSc in Aeronautical Maintenance and Production, and an Electrical Engineering degree.
