Dr Georg Krause has been the CEO of msg Plaut AG since May 2017, overseeing the regions of Austria, Central Europe, and Central Asia. Under his leadership, the company has become one of the leading IT service providers in these markets.

His professional career includes senior positions at renowned consulting firms such as Horváth & Partners, Steria Mummert, Deloitte Consulting, and SAP Austria. In 2023, Dr Krause was listed among the 1,000 most influential managers in Austria.

In addition to his business activities, Dr Krause is also involved in academic teaching. Since 2012, he has been a lecturer at Danube University Krems, where he has significantly contributed to the development of the IT Governance course.

Dr Krause is particularly committed to promoting human-centred digitalisation and strengthening Austria’s economic position. His goal is to embed the principles of Digital Humanism in the Austrian economy and society in the long term.

He is the editor of the book “Digitaler Humanismus in der Praxis”, published in 2023, and “Management Guide Digitaler Humanismus”, published in 2026, both by Springer Verlag. These books compile insights from renowned experts in politics, business, and academia. He initiated the award “Digitaler Humanismus in der Praxis” in cooperation with the Digital Humanism Association, Austrian Digital Value, the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF), and many other renowned organisations. The award was presented for the second time in 2026.

As a sought-after keynote speaker and host of a podcast on this topic, Dr Krause actively contributes to the development and practical implementation of Digital Humanism. Additionally, he is involved in the competence network fit4internet to promote digital skills.
