Bernhard Standl studied computer science and history for secondary education and earned a PhD in computer science education at the University of Vienna. After working as a computer science teacher and as a research associate focusing on didactics and EU-funded projects, he was a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at Missouri State University, USA and a postdoctoral researcher at TU Wien. He is currently a Full Professor of Computer Science Education at the Karlsruhe University of Education, where he serves as Head of the Department for Computer Science and Digital Education, Dean of Studies, and Deputy Director of the Karlsruhe School of Education. His research focuses on the modelling of instructional concepts in computational thinking and digital education.
