The Academy of Fine Arts Vienna
Axel Stockburger is an artist and Associate Professor for Art and Cultural Theory at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, where he works in the Studio for Art and Time | Media and the Research Cluster | Digital Cultures. He studied Visual Media Arts with Peter Weibel at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and holds a PhD from the University of the Arts London on the spatiality of digital games in contemporary art. He supervises graduate and PhD projects on media theory, digital culture, and artistic research, is a member of the research group Technopolitics and serves on the board of the Vienna Secession.
