Vienna City Library
Anita Eichinger is a Librarian and Philosopher. Since 2019 she is Director of the Vienna City Library, a scientific institution in the Vienna City Hall. Before that, she was head of “Digital Services” and started retrodigitisation projects and established the Digital Library. In 2013, she was one of the initiators, driving forces and managers behind the creation of the “Vienna History Wiki”, the largest local wiki in the world. 2020 Founder and initiator of the interdisciplinary discussion series “Digital Humanism – Shaping Transformation” with the aim of shaping the co-evolution of man and machine in the age of AI. Anita is involved in a wide variety of committees in Vienna’s city administration.
Anita published several articles on Cultural Heritage, Libraries, and Digitalisation.
