Fabian Fischer

Fabian Fischer is Academy Scientist at the Institute for Technology Assessment (ITA) at the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW). He is a disciplinary hybrid, combining a strong technical background in computer science with science & technology studies (STS), currently pursuing a PhD in STS. His research focuses on critical algorithm, data and AI studies and technology assessment of digital technologies. Research topics range from digital transformation in the public sector, inter- and transdisciplinarity, privacy to power relations in data-driven algorithmic systems (including AI).
