AI Research Institute Spanish National Research Council
Carles Sierra is a Research Professor of the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute (IIIA-CSIC) in the Barcelona area. He is currently the Director of the Institute and served as President of EurAI between 2020 and 2024. He received his PhD in Computer Science from the Technical University of Barcelona (UPC) in 1989 and has been conducting research on Artificial Intelligence since 1985. Sierra is an Adjunct Professor at Western Sydney University and has taught postgraduate courses on various AI topics at Université Paris Descartes, University of Technology Sydney, Universitat Politècnica de València, and Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, among others.
